ERL Maintenance Support Sdn Bhd, or E-MAS, is ERL’s operations and maintenance (O&M) subsidiary. Established on a foundation of technology transfer, E-MAS has so successfully honed its railway expertise that it is able today to collaborate with world-renowned industry leaders and provide services to other rail operators both in Malaysia and abroad.

E-MAS’ work on other rail projects includes design, testing and commissioning, formulation and documentation of operations procedures, training of operations staff and maintenance support.

Notable projects include Thailand’s Suvarnabhumi Airport Railway Line connecting Bangkok’s main airport with the city, in which E-MAS provided services to Deutsche Bahn International and Siemens Thailand; the construction and maintenance of the new Sentul Batu Caves line operated by Malaysia’s national railway operator Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB); and a technical study for Perak Hanjoong Simen Sdn Bhd, Malaysia’s second largest integrated cement producer. E-MAS also worked with Siemens AG on a proposal for the Puerto Rico Light Rail.
